A General View Of Positivism: Or, Summary Exposition Of The System Of Thought And Life - Translated From The French Of Auguste Comte By J. H. Bridges, A New Edition, With An Introduction (1908), By Frederic Harrison And The Additional Notes In The Last French Edition (Paris, 1907) This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. Auguste Comte wird 1798 in Montpellier geboren. Das Studium an der ü¾Ž–Œ¼cole Polytechnique in Paris kann der Sohn eines Steuerbeamten wegen der Teilnahme an einer Studentenrevolte nicht weiterfü¾˜¶˜¼hren und ist gezwungen, sich seinen Lebensunterhalt als Privatlehrer zu verdienen. Fü¾˜¶˜¼r einige Jahre wird er Sekretü¾†”¼r des Sozialphilosophen Saint-Simon und kann mit dessen Unterstü¾˜¶˜¼tzung seine ersten Schriften verü¾¦˜¼ffentlichen. Comte begrü¾˜¶˜¼ndet durch grü¾¦˜¼ü¾™¦¼tenteils autodidaktische Studien den franzü¾¦˜¼sischen Positivismus. Die Dreistadienlehre formuliert er bereits 1822 und verü¾¦˜¼ffentlicht sie der Abhandlung ü¾˜¶˜¼ber die positive Philosophie 1830. Demnach durchlü¾†”¼uft die Menschheit drei historische Stadien, das theologische, das metaphysische und das positive Stadium, in dem schlieü¾™¦¼lich die unverü¾†”¼nderlichen Gesetze der Natur und Gesellschaft zum Tragen kommen. Die politisch-praktischen Auswirkungen des Positivismus beschreibt er im System der positiven Politik, in dem er auch den vom ihm eingefü¾˜¶˜¼hrten Begriff der Soziologie als Wissenschaft wiederaufnimmt. 1844 verü¾¦˜¼ffentlicht er die Rede ü¾˜¶˜¼ber den Geist des Positivismus, die als Hauptschrift des klassischen Positivismus als Zusammenfassung von Comtes Lehre gelesen werden kann. Die platonisch-verklü¾†”¼rte Liebe zu einer verheirateten Frau veranlaü¾™¦¼t den Anti-Metaphysiker in den spü¾†”¼ten Lebensjahren zur Formulierung einer Religion der Menschheit, in der er seiner kultisch verehrten Liebe eine zentrale Stellung einrü¾†”¼umt. Auguste Comte stirbt 1857 an Magenkrebs.
