A book of stunning black and white photographs by celebrated Welsh photojournalist Geoff Charles (1909-2002), depicting Wales and the border areas of England from the 1940s to the 1970s. Charles' powerful and evocative images preserve a way of life that has now disappeared.
Ioan Roberts was born in Rhoshirwaun on the Llŷn Peninsula, and after spending time in Montomeryshire, Wrexham and Pontypridd, he's currently based in Pwllheli. Starting out as a civil engineer, he soon moved into journalism. He's been an editor for HTV, a news broadcaster for Radio Cymru and has produced programmes for S4C, as well as writing and editing several books.
