Glenda Jackson by Christopher Bryant

Chris Bryant's biography maps Glenda Jackson's personal odyssey from Boots shop assistant in Birkenhead to double oscar-winning darling of Hollywood with a triumphant stage career which she renounced for the unglamourous life of a politician.
'This candid biography sets out vividly Glenda's strengths and weaknesses' Barbara Castle, Daily Mail
Chris Bryant worked as a Church of England curate and youth officer until 1991 when he moved across to politics to support Labour's 1992 General Election, working for Frank Dobson and Glenda Jackson. Since then he has worked at the Labour Party HQ and has stood as a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Wycombe. He is Chair of the Christian Socialist Movement, of which Blair, Brown and Straw are also members. He has a wide knowledge of the theatre, having been an actor in the National Youth Theatre. He saw every one of Glenda Jackson's theatrical appearances from 1978 to 1991.
