Global Multi-Level Governance by Csar Prado

Since the end of the Cold War, European and East Asian states have enhanced a series of distinct regional and trans-boundary structures and agreements. Through bilateral, multilateral and especially interregional relationships, both Europe and East Asia are now actively engaging with other regions and the global community. This book examines the opportunity to sustain peace and prosperity through dynamic, mult-level governance in which individual states better engage in global processes and institutions via broad and hyperlinked regional regimes.

"César de Prado has written an impressive book on the growing engagement between Asia and Europe" —Tommy Koh, Asia-Europe Foundation and the Institute of Policy Studies

|

"The author's theoretical framework offers a way to map the new world order." —Anne-Marie Slaughter, Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University

|

"This is an excellent contribution to our understanding of the complex development towards global multi-level governance." —Horst Gunter Krenzler, Munich University Law Institute

Cesar de Prado is a researcher at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Oriental Culture, a visiting professor at the University of Salamanca's East Asian Studies Program in Spain, and an associate research fellow at the United Nations University Comparative Regional Integration Studies program in Belgium.
