First published in 1962, this book details the lawsuit that Charles C. Gomillion, Chairman of Tuskegee Institute's Division of Social Sciences and President of the Tuskegee Civic Association, filed against Alabama city's mayor to protest at the black community's loss of voting rights.
Taper, Bernard: - Bernard Taper (1918-2016) was the author of several books, including the acclaimed Balanchine: A Biography and Cellist in Exile: A Portrait of Pablo Casals. Following a stint as a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, he worked for many years as a staff writer for the New Yorker. He was also a professor of journalism at the University of California, Berkeley.
