The Great Pretender by James Atlas

The Lipper/Viking Penguin Lives Series was founded by James Atlas. He was an editor at The New York Times Magazine for many years and was a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and Vanity Fair. His writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including The New York Times Book Review, The New York Review of Books, and many others. Delmore Schwartz: The Biography of an American Poet, which was nominated for a National Book Award, and The Great Pretender, a novel, among his works.
