Halfway Down the Hall by Rachel Hadas

A generous gathering of the best poems, both previously published and uncollected, from Rachel Hadas's career.

Rachel Hadas is a poet, translator, writer, and critic whose love of classics is evident in many of her work. Halfway Down the Hall: New and Collected Poems (Wesleyan University Press, 1998), The Empty Bed (Wesleyan University Press, 1995), and A Son from Slumber (Wesleyan University Press, 1987) are among her works. For over 10 years, she has led creative writing classes at the Gay Men's Health Alliance in New York, and her personal AIDS-related poetry have been praised as among the best elegies of our time. Hadas is an English professor at Rutgers University in New York City.
