Happy Mouseday by Dick King-Smith
"You are not keeping a mouse in this house"! Every Saturday - or Mouseday, as Pete calls it - Pete asks his mum and dad if he can have a pet mouse. And every week, the answer is the same. No. Then Pete gets a terrific idea. He could secretly keep a mouse in his tree-house...

"' A delightful story... The characterization is good... The book has a satisfactory and happy ending.... The text is simple, with large print, and vocabulary which is not too demanding yet not too repetitive either. The illustrations add interest and some humour.
