Hats Off by Joyce Grenfell
Joyce Grenfell was known and loved for her inimitable songs and monologues, but her first earnings, during the 1930s, were from her poetry, and she went on writing poems all her life. Here they are collected, along with some of her sketches and Christmas cards.
Joyce Grenfell was known and loved the world over for her inimitable songs and monologues, but her first earnings during the 1930s, were from her poetry, and she went on writing poems all her life. Many of her clever, affectionate, sometimes acerbic verses first appeared in "Punch," the "Observer," the "Christian Science Monitor" and "Country Life." Most have lain unseen since then, and some have never been published before.
