Eddie manages an Italian chain restaurant in Pocatello-a small unexceptional American city that is slowly being paved over with strip malls and franchises. Hunter's productions. A 2014 MacArthur Genius Grant Fellowship, a 2012 Whiting Writers Award, the 2013 Otis Guernsey New Voices Award, the 2011 Sky Cooper Prize, the 2008 PONY/Lark Fellowship, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Idaho have all been bestowed upon him. His plays have been seen at Playwrights Horizons, LCT3, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Clubbed Thumb, and Page 73 in New York, as well as at Seattle Rep, South Coast Rep, Victory Gardens, Williamstown Theater Festival, The Old Globe, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Denver Center Theatre Company, Dallas Theater Center, Long Wharf Theatre, and other theaters across the country. In the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, the Ojai Playwrights Conference, Seven Devils, and PlayPenn, he has developed his work. He is a member of New Dramatists, a Victory Gardens Ensemble Playwright, a Partial Comfort Productions member, and a 2013 Arena Stage Resident Playwright.

Sam is a native of northern Idaho who now resides in New York City. He has playwriting degrees from New York University, the Iowa Playwrights Workshop, and Juilliard.
