Bette Ford was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, where she now resides. Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, awarded her a bachelor's degree. Bette began her teaching career in Detroit and went on to Wayne State University to earn her master's degree. She retired from teaching after several years as a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools HEADSTART Project. She is a full-time writer.
