High Calling by Michael Rouse

Ronald Holland was a boisterous young man who worked in the logging camps and ran with a bunch of rowdies in the remote North Carolina mountains. It was the 1920s - the Prohibition era. But that didn't prevent Ronald and his pals from getting hold of all the liquor they wanted, which was a lot. Michael Rouse is well known locally as an author of historical and cultural works about Ely, not to mention for his long service as a member of both East Cambridgeshire District Council and the City of Ely Council. In 2010 the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History honored him with a Dedicated Service Award for Long and Dedicated Service in the Field of Local History in Cambridgeshire. He lives in Ely.
