Hiking Pennsylvania by John Young

A guide to fifty of Pennsylvania's top hiking destinations. Heavily illustrated with maps, elevation profiles, and photos, this book provides detailed directions, mile-by-mile trail descriptions, and quick-reference boxes for trail specifications and summary information. Each trail is graded by difficulty. Recommendations for accommodations and restaurants round out this exceptionally detailed guide book.
John L. Young has been hiking the forests of Pennsylvania since his childhood in Altoona. He has a degree in journalism and is a former newspaper reporter and columnist. His outdoor and travel articles have appeared in Ohio Magazine, Pennsylvania Magazine, and Pursuits, a publication of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. He is currently at work on Hiking the Poconos. Young has been interviewed about his books twice on JET TV 24 and once by WSEE 35, in Erie, PA. He was the subject of a two-part series wherein he had an experimental heart procedure at St.Vincents Hospital and returned three years later with his first hiking book in hand to pass out to the cardiologist.
