J.P.Donleavy was born in New York City in 1926 and went to Trinity College in Ireland for his education. He's written eight books, including The Ginger Man, A Fairy Tale of New York, and The Destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman. He lives in Ireland, on the banks of Lough Owel.
