Hitting the Headlines in Europe covers techniques for getting stories into Europe's press and onto its radio and television stations, and offers a handy overview of the main European institutions and media, including lists of useful addresses.
"This practical and accessible guide is the ideal reference source for PR practitioners, journalists or anyone working with the European media, as well as students of public relations and journalism" * European Information Service Bulletin *

Alun Drake is a former BBC television and radio journalist, now working for Europe's leading human rights and democracy-building organization, the Council of Europe. Based in Strasbourg, France, he has previously headed the Council's audio-visual and press services and is currently editor of its main website.

Cathie Burton started her career in journalism in the UK before moving to the European Parliament as spokesperson for the European Parliamentary Labour Party. She joined the 46-nation Council of Europe where she concentrated on media relations with countries of South East Europe and later became head of campaigns and events. In 2013 she was appointed Director of Communication and Media Relations at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), where she modernised the media operation and headed OSCE media reaction to the Russian invasion of Crimea and the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. She is presently a senior editorial adviser at the Council of Europe.
