Wendy Ward has been a fashion designer since 2000, working for a variety of firms ranging from small boutiques to huge high-street corporations. Wendy began teaching adults dressmaking, pattern cutting, and textiles in 2007. She holds a bachelor's degree in fashion design, a master's degree in design, and is a certified teacher. Wendy launched the first of her own design sewing patterns in 2012 when she started MIY Workshop in Brighton, UK. Wendy is also a Society of Designer Craftsmen member.

She is a regular contributor to Sewing World Magazine, and her debut book, My Fashion Label, was published in 2014 and is about fashion design for children. In 2014, she released her first sewing book for adults, The Beginner's Guide to Dressmaking. Wendy is based in Brighton, England.
