Homeward Bound by Harry Turtledove

In his groundbreaking Worldwar series, Harry Turtledove introduced the Race, a technically-advanced army of alien lizards that struck at the battlefields where Hitler clashed with Stalin and the Japanese Empire took on the United States. They prevailed, though humanity still resisted their seemingly inevitable conquest. The Colonisation sequence continued the story of the Race's war with our kind through the 1950s and 1960s. Now, finally recognising that the humans must in the end prevail, the Race prepares to withdraw. But will they - or we - survive the final epic battles?
'With shocking vividness, Turtledove demonstrates the extreme fragility of our modern world.. This is state-of-the-art alternate history, nothing less' -- Publishers Weekly starred review for HOW FE 'Engrossing ... definitely the work of one of alternate history's authentic modern masters ... totally fascinating' -- Booklist on THE GREAT WAR 'Good fun. It has an authentic speculative quality, energy and dash' -- Time Out on WORLD OF DIFFERENCE 'A highly addictive series ... Turtledove delivers the goods' -- Publishing News on AMERICAN EMPIRE: THE CEN
