How to Make Hand-Hooked Rag Rugs by Ann Davies

Fabric remnants, discarded clothing or specially chosen material can be hooked on to canvas to create wonderful rugs, wallhangings and cushions.
Originally trained as an embroideress at Goldsmith's College, London, Anne Davies has been studying and teaching rag rug methods for over thirty years. She is a founder member of the Association of Rag Rug makers and lectures on rag rug making extensively throughout the British Isles. Anne had her own exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall in 1986 and a joint exhibition at the Ice House in Holland Park, London; her work has also been included in a number of other exhibitions in the UK. Her rugs and wallhangings are in private collections - in Europe and in the USA. She writes articles on rag rug making for a number of British magazines and is the author of two other books on rag rug making techniques.
