Marie Mongan, M.Ed., M.Hy., is the inventor of HypnoBirthing and the Director of the HypnoBirthing Institute. She is a lifelong educator, former college dean, clinical hypnotherapist, and founder of the HypnoBirthing Institute. She won the President's Award from the National Guild of Hypnotists in 1995, the coveted Charles Tebbetts Award in 2000, and the highest honor bestowed by the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2009, designated for the recognition she has brought to hypnosis. She received the International Association's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. She was named to this accolade by the American Association of Counselors and Therapists for the recognition she has brought to hypnotherapy. Mongan, like many of the Institute's other faculty members, lives in New Hampshire but travels extensively to lecture in the 46 countries where HypnoBirthing is practiced. She is the mother of four grown children, all of whom were born utilizing HypnoBirthing procedures.
