I See a Voice follows the early life of Jay Norris up to her decision to become a teacher. We learn, amongst other things of her life during the war years, her wedding to Ernest in 1942, her 'gap year' in the USA and her Rockabye Nappy Service business. A companion piece to her earlier release 'Just Inside My Head'. When, in 1952, Jay Norris went straight from college to be a teacher of English and Drama, in a new secondary modern school at Cheshunt, in Hertfordshire, Cliff Richard was one of her pupils.
