Mark Shulman has worked as a camp counselor, a radio announcer, a maitre d' in a high-end restaurant, a New York City tour guide, and an advertising creative. He's authored books about sharks, storms, robots, palindromes, gorillas, dodo birds, Star Wars, Ben Franklin, how to hide things, kill your enemies, and how to make a film from start to finish, among other subjects. Oscar de la Hoya (the boxer) and Shamu (the whale) are among the celebrities for whom he has written picture books. Mark is from Rochester and Buffalo, New York, but he's spent so much time in New York City that he sounds like he's from the Bronx. His children feel the same way. Kara, a reading specialist in elementary school, has flawless diction.
