A new kind of Bible study...

After the success of her first two books, Heather Holleman received many requests to write a Bible study. And as a college English instructor, she wanted to make sure it really taught and didn't simply inform. So she surveyed several women about what their dream study would look like, then got to work.

The result is Included in Christ, a narrative-driven study where you can bring your life before Scripture in the context of community. Together women will discern their personal shadow narratives--ways they are living outside of their identity in Christ--and then rewrite those narratives according to biblical truth.

This in-depth, 8-week study in Ephesians willequip women with six "signature stories" of God's work in their lives--helping them combat exclusion, loneliness, weakness, decay, emptiness, and silence.

Designed to facilitate honest sharing and help you internalize biblical truth, Included in Christ will provide community and connectedness as well as spiritual nourishment. It will also guide you in how to share your story and the hope of Christ with someone who doesn't yet know Him.

HEATHER HOLLEMAN is a speaker, teacher, and author who loves helping people connect with Jesus, especially through scripture. People have called her a walking exclamation point, and she's known as a lover of vivid verbs and semicolons. Heather currently directs the Advanced Writing in the Humanities courses at Penn State, and she devotes herself to building authentic writing communities and helping students gain confidence and joy in writing. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned her Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Michigan. She has received numerous teaching awards in the past 20 years including the Moscow Prize for Excellence in Teaching Composition and most recently the Residence Life Mentor award for her work in the English department at Penn State University. Heather has written eight books, her most recent being Sent: Living a Life that Invites Others to Jesus which follows her trilogy of favorite verbs in scripture (Seated With Christ: Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison; Guarded by Christ: Knowing the God Who Rescues and Keeps Us; and Chosen for Christ: Stepping Into the Life You've Been Missing). Heather and her husband, Ashley, also serve with Faculty Commons (Cru) with Ashley in the role of Executive Director for Graduate Student Ministry. They have two teen daughters and three cats. ASHLEY HOLLEMAN and his wife, Heather, are on staff with Cru, where Ashley serves as the national director of Cru's graduate student ministry. Prior to this assignment Ashley completed a Master's in chemistry at the University of Michigan and then joined Cru staff to minister locally to grad students -- first at the University of Michigan and then at Penn State. In his spare time, he enjoys building furniture, gardening, working on his house, and watching UNC-Chapel Hill basketball and football. He and Heather have two daughters -- Sarah and Kate.
