Kia Carrington-Russell was born in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia, and began writing as an angsty teenager, discovering a passion for exploring imaginative realities and world building at the age of fifteen. She wanted to pursue a career in freelance journalism after graduating from high school, but rapidly replaced that desire with something that made her heart race and her mind race-fiction. She went over her first work, Ownership of My Soul, with fresh eyes and started her publishing career in 2014. With her identifiable style of badass heroines, fast-paced action, and light-to-dark romance, she's been dubbed the new up and coming author to watch, and her writing style has been described as hauntingly beautiful.
