Trevor Munroe is Professor of Government and Politics, University o the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He is the author of several scholarly works, including Renewing Democracy in the New Millennium: The Jamaican Experience in Perspective, and the recipient of the Vice Chancellor's Award for excellence in Teaching in 2000. He is also a leader in Jamaica's labour movement and an independent senator in the Jamaican Parliament.
