Island of Light by David Adam

The small island of Lindisfarne has a rare quality of light that is marvellously captured in this collection of full-colour photographs by Robert Cooper. Each one is the inspiration for a new prayer by David Adam, in which he reflects on both the ruggedness and the often-unexpected beauty to be found in this 'holy place'. A rich resource for personal devotion, Island of Light opens our eyes to the glory of God that is always around us, during times of difficulty and times of joy.
"Follows the very successful Landscapes of Light, which has sold over 6,600 copies and has been described as "one of the most beautiful prayer books I have come across for some considerable time" New Link
David Adam is one of the best-loved figures in Celtic spirituality, and author of many successful books including most recently Glimpses of Glory (SPCK, 2000) and, with Robert Cooper, Landscapes of Light (SPCK, 2001). He is the Vicar of Lindisfarne, which receives thousands of pilgrims each year. Robert Cooper, Priest-in-charge of Sadberge in County Durham, works for the Chaplaincy to the Arts and Recreation, building bridges between the Church and the arts community.
