The Jacobite Rebellion by Paul Adams

The Jacobite Rebellion is a story with a host of bizarre characters and happenings. It follows the journey of our hero, Charles Edward Stuart, who is involved in the plot due to a mistaken identity. He travels to Scotland with Flora Macdonald and is pursued by DCI Cumberland until he arrives at Brady Castle. Here, he meets Colonel Macpherson who is plotting to overthrow the Hanoverian Monarchy and replace the Queen with the real Charles Stuart. We also meet the mad major, who thinks that he is trying to escape from Stalag XXI as he believes that Brady Castle is a wartime camp. Our hero is a useful decoy. As the action moves to London in time for the London Marathon, the plot will have you in stitches as you follow the hunt to find the real Charles Stuart.
"Very Funny" - Peter Spence, creator and writer of the British BBC sitcom, To the Manor Born
