Phillips, Julie: - Julie Phillips has always had a fascination with the past and in particular how our social history shapes and influences our present and our future. People are stories, and she loves nothing better than going out and talking to people as part of her research. She writes books that give people a voice and an opportunity to tell their stories within the context of what was happening both locally and nationally.

Based in Shropshire, she has had a varied working life including nurse, and teaching assistant. She now writes short stories, articles and historical non-fiction, continuing to see her work published in a variety of publications.
