
John Ruskin by Tim Hilton
This is the second volume of Tim Hilton's biography of John Ruskin. The book begins in 1859, when Ruskin, then a celebrated author with a failed marriage, is living with his parents, writing and travelling. Among these pupils is Rose La Touche, a girl of ten with whom he slowly falls in love.
Tim Hilton, a regular contributor to the Times Literary Supplement and other journals has written the catalogues of a number of significant exhibitions and has taught both painting and art history in several British art schools and universities.
