Published in 1787 on the eve of the French Revolution, this manual of infantry 'tacticks' was written by an anonymous senior and celebrated Prussian General. Translated by Isaac Landmann, a Professor of Fortification and Artillery at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, this book offers an insight into Europe's military thinking at the dawn of the age of Napoleon.
