Olia Hercules was born in Ukraine and spent five years in Cyprus before traveling to London to pursue a BA in Italian and an MA in Russian and English. She then opted to attend Leith's School of Food and Wine to pursue a career as a chef. She began her culinary career at London's Union Market before joining Ottolenghi's as chef-de-partie. She is a highly recognized chef, food stylist, and writer who has achieved national and worldwide renown for her culinary prowess and engaging personality. Olia has been on The Food Network, established an internet firm (The Recipe Kit), contributed essays and video to the Guardian, and authored the highly acclaimed cookbook Mamushka.
