Publishers Weekly hailed Kenneth Goldsmith's poems some of the most thorough and gorgeous collage work ever produced in poetry. Goldsmith is the author of eight poetry collections, the founder of the online repository UbuWeb (ubu.com), and the editor of I'll Be Your Mirror: The Collected Andy Warhol Interviews, which served as the inspiration for the opera Trans-Warhol, which premiered in Geneva in March 2007. Sucking on Words, an hour-long documentary about his work, premiered at the British Library in 2007. He is a senior editor of PennSound, an online poetry repository, and teaches writing at The University of Pennsylvania. In 2009-10, he was the Anschutz Distinguished Visiting Professor of American Studies at Princeton University, and in 2009, he was awarded the Qwartz Electronic Music Prize in Paris.

He was invited to read at President Barack Obama's A Celebration of American Poetry at the White House in May 2011, when he also taught a poetry class to First Lady Michelle Obama. He co-edited Against Expression: An Anthology of Conceptual Writing in 2011 and published Uncreative Writing: Controlling Language in the Digital Age, a collection of articles. In 2012, Goldsmith was invited to take part in the dOCUMENTA(13) exhibition in Kassel, Germany. Letter to Bettina Funcke was published by dOCUMENTA(13) in 2012 as part of their 100 Notes--100 Thinking book series.
