She is a colorist at heart, and her knitting, embroidery, crocheting, needlework, sewing, crafting, gardening, interior décor, photography, painting, and pottery all reflect her passion of strong and stunning color combinations. Kristin worked as the creative director of Classic Elite Yarns for sixteen years, honing her abilities in product development, graphic design, and sales and marketing. She was named a Master Knitter of the 1990s by Vogue Knitting. She has worked as an author, book illustrator, and product designer since 2001.
Kristin has also contributed designs to a number of other knitting publications. Kristin, her husband, and their daughter reside on Leyden Glen Farm, a working sheep farm in western Massachusetts.
