Stan Cook born in Ashland, OR and schooled in Beaverton entered the US Navy Submarine service in 1959. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor seeing service in Vietnam and many cold war submarine patrols. He retired with 22 years military service. He worked in radio and TV prior to joining the Honolulu Police Department where he retired again in 1999. In retirement he designs and host website and is the author of 1920, Shots Fired, Officer Down. ** Frances Cook King Kalaukao (1916 -1998) Was a graduate of the University of Oregon. She was a Justice of the Peace in Beaverton, Oregon, founder of the Safe Teen driving program and wrote the Dinning Out column in the Honolulu Advertiser for years. As part of her retirement she wrote two manuscripts that she never managed to get published in remote Hawaii. Fifteen years after her death these two great stories were recovered and are being published by her son, Stan Cook.
