Left and Leaving by Jo Verity
Fifth novel from award winner Jo Verity. Gil is on a gap-year working in the London hospital to which Vivian brings Irene for treatment. Irene is thrilled with her new friends, they less so with her ongoing interest in their lives. Gil has a girlfriend, whilst Vivian has a high-flying boyfriend and a time-consuming job, but they keep finding reasons to spend time together. Marooned by a sudden snowstorm, Vivian and Gil are forced to spend Christmas facing up to responsibilities they've been complacent about for too long. And Irene waits, ready to fill the holes in their life
Jo Verity has had short stories, poems and articles published or broadcast on Radio 4.
