She was exposed to travel at a young age as the daughter of a single parent who worked for a big airline, and she acquired a strong interest in it. The idea for the Bella and Harry series arose as her own children grew older and her love of animals grew stronger. The series was created in the hopes of teaching young readers to appreciate and explore the globe. Manzione is an author and illustrator who belongs to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
