This memoir looks back at a painter mother, 7 times married, whose outlaw spirit could tip over in psychosis; a fist-swinging father who spun tales with his cronies at the Liars' Club; and, neighbourhood rape when she is 8.
Mary Karr is an acclaimed poet. Her memoir, The Liars’ Club , won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award. She is the Jesse Truesdell Peck Professor of Literature at Syracuse University.
