Light Flashes in the Tunnel contains solo insights through the kaleidoscope of one diversely-reflected life. Subject matter covers the spectrum of common day-to-day occurrences and feelings associated with human progress from birth to death. It's a compendium of life experiences and thoughts (from impact and observations) shared among all of us passing through the benevolent and unforgiving tunnel of life. We are the pawns confronting the inexorable forces along our path, sustaining the inevitable happiness and tragedies within separate, yet shared, spheres.
Jim was born into a military family with parents originating from the heartland, but, while on active duty, continually re-assigned to U.S. Navy coastal port areas. He was, as a result, widely traveled and educated and exposed to diverse cultures through college; thereafter, joining the Navy himself for among many other duty stations, a tour in Vietnam. After military service, he worked for 33 years in the School Child Nutrition Program of Escambia County (Pensacola), Florida, where he still resides to this day. His 40-year marriage produced five children and seven grandchildren.
