Little Book Of Big Words by Andy Hughes
This book was written for all those people who: would like to sound more intelligent and feel that a smattering of 'big words' will help fool everyone into thinking they are; or wish they knew some bigger words to impress their boss when asking for a rise; or want to extend their working vocabulary, maybe land a better job, or are trying to impress those critical in-laws; or just love words! It is easy to look up a word in the dictionary, but knowing how to use it is a different matter altogether. "The Little Book of Big Words" solves that problem by explaining and illustrating the use of each word in a simple, straightforward and sometimes humorous way.
Andy Hughes comes from a family of writers and has himself spent his career as a freelance news journalist, both writing and presenting the news, and writing for magazines. He has worked for London's LBC, Magic and Capital radio stations, plus a number of BBC radio stations and Forces Radio. He has also voiced radio adverts and television news reports. Andy has four sons and lives in Epsom, Surrey.
