Melissa Ford is the author of the popular Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters blog (stirrup-queens.blogspot.com), which has hundreds of subscribers and attracts over 1000 daily visits. The site has followers from New York City to San Francisco, as well as couples from tiny towns like Irving, Texas and Roscommon, Michigan. By overcoming both primary and secondary infertility, she has earned the position of tour guide for Navigating the Land of If. Her feet had spent more time in gynecological stirrups than on the earth. She had her twins through in-uterine insemination (IUI) with injectibles three years ago.

Although she strives to complete her family, she is still suffering from secondary infertility. Her diagnosis has more abbreviations than a ticker strip at the Stock Exchange (high FSH, LPD, MTHFR, PA1-4G/4G, to name a few). How can a human decipher all of those letters without a book? While pursuing her MA, she worked with Jay Neugeboren and John Edgar Wideman and taught English and history to middle school students for six years.

She resides in Maryland with her family.
