London Taxis - A Full History by Bill Munro
London's taxis, the capital's famous 'black cabs' are famous around the world. This book traces the story of the London taxi in great depth, from 1897, when the capital's first horseless cab, the Bersey, appeared, right up to the present day. Fully illustrated, with over 150 black and white images. Possibly the definitive work on the subject.Bill Munro made his life as a London taxi driver for nearly forty years. He produced a regular column and other pieces for the cab trade press during that time, as well as books and essays about London taxis, the cab trade, and other transportation-related themes. During his adolescence, I was heavily involved with the British Hot Rod Association, assisting with model drag races, road and customs displays, and other activities. In the late 1990s, he became interested in four-wheel drive after writing Jeep, from Bantam to Wrangler, which inspired study into Ferguson Formula four-wheel drive. This rekindled his passion for all kind of motor racing. Bill is married and lives with his wife in Surrey, England.
