In 1998, he released the more powerful LogLuv TIFF encoding, and more recently, the JPEG HDR extension, which is backwards compatible. He's also the creator of Photosphere, a Mac OS X tool that allows for advanced HDR assembling and categorization and is accessible for free at www.anyhere.com. He is now working on HDR display systems with Sunnybrook Technologies. Greg has spent over 20 years inventing rendering algorithms, reflectance models and measurement systems, tone reproduction operators, image processing approaches, and photo printer calibration methods in the computer graphics research community.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, EPFL Switzerland, SGI, Shutterfly, and Exponent are among his previous employment. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in computer science from San Francisco State University. In Albany, California, he is currently employed as an independent consultant.
