Loose Leaf for Human Biology by Sylvia S Mader
Mader's Human Biology introduces the main themes of biology through the lens of the human body. Students improve their scientific literacy while establishing a foundation of knowledge in human biology and physiology. The text integrates tested, traditional content with a modern suite of digital tools.Sylvia S.Mader is the author of several well-known biology textbooks published by McGraw Hill. She holds degrees in Biology and Education from Bryn Mawr College, Harvard University, Tufts University, and Nova Southeastern University. She's taught at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, Massachusetts Bay Community College, Suffolk University, and Nathan Mayhew Seminars over the years. Her ability to communicate with science-averse students led to the creation of Inquiry into Life, which is now in its twelfth edition. Her books have become templates for those who write in the subject of biology because of her concise and interesting writing style.
Despite the fact that her writing schedule is constantly hectic, Dr. Mader enjoys visiting and exploring the biosphere's many habitats. Her numerous travels to the Florida Everglades and Caribbean coral reefs led in speeches to a variety of groups across the country. She's been to Alaska's tundra, the Canadian Rockies' taiga, Arizona's Sonoran Desert, and South America's and Australia's tropical rain forests. A photo safari to Kenya's Serengeti produced a handful of images for her texts.
When she traveled to the Galapagos Islands with a group of biology educators, she was ecstatic at the prospect of treading in Darwin's footsteps. Dr. Mader was also part of a group of biology educators who flew to China to meet with their Chinese colleagues and exchange views about modern-day biology education.
