Lost in the Flames by Christopher Jory
There have been many factual accounts of the bombing of Germany, yet the myths that surround it still remain. Lost in the Flames brings to life the experiences of an RAF Bomber Command airman and his family within the story of a love that endures for 70 years. It is also a story of great courage and betrayal, exposing the personal dilemmas and moral controversies that have swirled around the Bomber Command crews and their families from WW2 to the present day. And how will the nation remember them - as heroes or war criminals or something in between?
'Lost in the Flames is gripping and provides the reader with an insight into how life was for the crews of Bomber CommandAll of this is delivered in an evocative and emotional story which induces suspense, smiles and tears. Having met many veterans over the past two years and hearing their accounts of their service in the Command I can see how much research went into this novel and how much empathy Chris Jory has for their story.' Nicky Barr, Director, International Bomber Command Centre
Raised on a mixed diet of Enid Blyton and war comics the author has always loved working with words. After studying English Literature at university he taught English living in Italy, Spain, Crete, Brazil and Venezuela. He is married and lives near Oxford though they still have a rather run-down home in Italy.
