Lunar Landscapes by Alan Bullard
Here are eight easy and tuneful pieces for the young cellist to enjoy. In a variety of rhythms and styles the pieces describe a journey to the moon - scurrying quavers as the rocket takes off, a light-hearted boogie rhythm for 'Moonwalk', awe-inspiring chords as the space-craft dips to the dark side of the moon, and an up-tempo rock 'n' roll number as the moon party begins. In addition, the cello part contains a number of delightful illustrations which fully complement the lively and attractive pieces. As well as being fun to play, the pieces also explore a range of keys, time signatures, rhythmic patterns and bowings, thus providing plenty of useful practice to develop the young player's technique.
