War Requiem is a new publication dedicated to a major installation by the British artist Maggi Hambling, first exhibited in 2013 and including an extensive body of paintings of battlefields and war victims.
James Cahill, who has degrees from Oxford and the Courtauld Institute of Art, is now studying at Cambridge for his doctorate. Cahill writes for The Burlington Magazine, Apollo, The Independent, and Elephant Magazine, reviewing books and exhibitions. He has written on the work of Anish Kapoor, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Sarah Lucas, Robert Rauschenberg, Francesco Clemente and the sculpture of Etienne Viard.
