"Magnum" by Russell Miller

A biography of Magnum in the words of its photographers. The perspective on half a century of world history by a small group of photographers who established the co-operative photographic agency which became the most famous in the world. Includes anecdotal stories of the photographers and their adventures.

Russell Miller is a prize-winning journalist who has written eleven books. He was born in 1938 in east London and began his journalism career at the age of sixteen. He received four press awards and was named Writer of the Year by the Society of British Magazine Editors while working for the Sunday Times Magazine. His book Magnum, about the famed photo agency, was hailed as the best photo-journalism book I've ever read by John Simpson, and his oral histories of D-Day, Nothing Less Than Triumph, and SOE, Behind the Lines were extensively praised in the UK and the US.
