He worked at Harvard Divinity School as a postdoctoral scholar from 1985 to 1988 and has been at Emory since 1988. He is the author of six books and the host of six lecture series on American and British history with The Teaching Company (http://www.teach12.com). From the 1960s to the early twenty-first century, his current research and writing focus is a history of the intellectual and political opponents of environmentalism.
