What She Knew is written by Gilly Macmillan, who has been nominated for an Edgar Award and is a New York Times bestselling novelist. She was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, and spent her late adolescence in Northern California. Before starting a family, she worked at The Burlington Magazine and the Hayward Gallery. She's worked as a part-time photography lecturer since then, and now writes full-time. She is currently based in Bristol, UK.
