Mathswork by Steve Mills
This book presents the basics of maths to children in an enjoyable way. It covers the key parts of the National Curriculum for mathematics at the lower end of Key Stage 2 and has been designed specifically for use during the numeracy hour. It is one of a series which progresses from Mathswork 1 at Key Stage 1 and Mathswork 2 at the bottom of Key Stage 2. It deals with the main headings of the National Curriculum and the Numeracy Programme at the appropriate yuear-group levels.
Steve Mills began his career as a primary school teacher before becoming a Lecturer in Mathematics education at the University of Reading, working with students in initial teacher training, and providing INSET for schools. He is now a full-time writer and consultant in mathematics education. Hilary Koll is a part-time Mathematics Co-ordinator and teacher of children in Berkshire Primary school. She works as a Lecturer in Mathematics Education at the University of Reading on undergraduate, post-graduate and in-service training courses.
