Betty Lane lives with husband Eric in an untidy but interesting Victorian house in leafy Cardiff. The walls are graced with large images that she has made and exhibited over the years, some ceramic and some photographic, mainly images from astronomy. There are also portraits in terra-cotta of persons known and unknown. There are two pianos in the house: Eric plays jazz piano in pubs and concert venues and at home; the house is often graced with the sounds from chosen pieces from his formidable record collection. As well as the pictures and portraits, Betty writes poems, novels and now. a memoir called Me. Writing it was fun, but self publishing it on Amazon is a trial: using unfamiliar technology. But it is better than silence.
